Let me say, I live in AL and I'm going to be driving on back roads and dirt roads alot more than city roads. The vehicle has to be able to handle muddy dirt roads and bumpy paved roads. I would like the vehicle to be in between the years 2001-2005. My budget is around $12,000. I'm open to looking at cars but like I said, it has to be able to drive on muddy dirt roads.

I really like the 2004 Toyota 4Runner and the 2005 Nissan Xterra

Thanks.

2005 Xterra is so much better than the 4Runner. It drives way more smoother, and can take a beating.

Any vehicle with a 4 wheel drive will do. I had a friend who went offroading with a Jimmy in the mud and got stuck because it had no 4wd.

Jeep's are the best for off-roading.
